Widening participation

QUT has long-standing outreach, admissions and support programs for under-represented groups, with a particular emphasis on low-SES, rural and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. We are dedicated to increasing enrolments from students who may not feel that they have the opportunity to study at university.

QUT Precincts is partnered with QUT Equity to provide programming as part of QUT's commitment to Widening Participation. QUT Precinct's Widening Participation program aims to build on students' knowledge of and aspirations within the visual arts sector in higher education and beyond. This is achieved through the following programs available for QUT Widening Participation partner schools. Partner schools are welcome to request hands-on art programs brought to their school classroom or to attend our on-campus tours and events. For more information, please contact us.

QUT acknowledges the Turrbal and Yugara, as the First Nations owners of the lands where QUT now stands. We pay respect to their Elders, lores, customs and creation spirits. We recognise that these lands have always been places of teaching, research and learning. QUT acknowledges the important role Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people play within the QUT community.
