Curious about a creative career but don't know where to start? Are you a teacher, guidance counsellor or parent looking for more information for a student or your child? You've come to the right place.
QUT Precincts in partnership with QUT Creative Industries and QUT Equity have developed a range of coordinated resources and events that provide honest and helpful information on career and study pathways in the creative disciplines of visual arts and fashion.
|FOR||Middle to senior high school students, prospective students, teachers, guidance counsellors and parents|
|CAMPUS||QUT Creative Industries Precinct, Kelvin Grove|
At our ART/WORK On campus sessions, hear personal insights, words of advice, and practical tips from QUT graduates, students and lecturers about their career and study experiences. These sessions are conducted in a relaxed and informal manner that allows plenty of time for questions and conversation. Study options at QUT are covered and resources and a prospectus are available to take home.
In 2016 we will be offering two ART/WORK sessions—one focused on visual arts, and one focused on fashion. ART/WORK On campus will be presented at the newly opened second stage of the QUT Creative Industries Precinct at Kelvin Grove Campus.
These sessions will take place in August. Register your interest and we will contact you when dates are confirmed.
|FOR||Middle to senior high school students, teachers and guidance counsellors from QUT Widening Participation partner schools|
|AVAILABLE||Monday – Wednesday, 24 July – 31 August 2016; other dates by negotiation|
|DURATION||1 to 1.5 hours|
With our ART/WORK In school sessions, we come to you. Much the same as ART/WORK On campus you will hear personal insights, words of advice, and practical tips from QUT graduates, students and lecturers about their career and study experiences. These sessions are conducted in a relaxed and informal manner that allows plenty of time for questions and conversation. Study options at QUT are covered and we bring resources and a prospectus with us for you to take home.
A very limited number of sessions are available, and please note this in-school experience is only available to QUT Widening Participation partner schools.
Developed in conjunction with QUT Creative Industries and QUT Equity staff, alongside members of the Queensland Art Teachers' Association (QATA), and produced by Queensland University of Technology (QUT) Film and Television students, ART/WORK Online follows the career and study pathways of seven individuals working across varied roles in the visual arts sector: the curator, arts worker, artist, gallerist, art installer, educator, and conservator.
