The Curator

Amy-Clare McCarthy is a curator and writer. She is currently the Visual Arts Co-ordinator at Metro Arts, Brisbane, and works in Exhibitions at the State Library of Queensland (SLQ). She is a founding member and co-director of Artist-Run-Initiative (ARI) Current Projects.

Amy-Clare completed a Bachelor of Creative Industries (Visual Art) Honours at Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in 2010. Amy-Clare's Honours thesis focused on an analysis of different modes of participation in contemporary art.

In 2011–2012 Amy-Clare completed internships with MoMA PS1 and e-flux, New York. She has previously been published in un Magazine (AUS), Dispatch (online) and The Maximilian (online), and has written catalogue essays for The Churchie National Emerging Art Prize 2013, FELTspace and Current Projects.
